Don’t worry, this sleeping lion is not a dead lion. The flies do love his nose. Do you know anyone who sleeps like that – with his tongue sticking out, slightly to the left?
Unfortunately, I have not been on a real African Safari. I have not walked in the reeds in Tsavo. I have been to Lion Country Safari though. When you are a dad, that counts. That is the beauty of zoos. When they are run well (and well funded) they are awesome. How else can you let a two-year-old get close to the king of growly cats?
The top shot is from Wild Adventures in Valdosta. If you are a parent. Make a zoo pass your yearly gift to yourself. You can show books (or my blogs) but there is nothing like being able to observe the real deal.
Wildlife Wednesdays will be taking a short break. There may be an occasional post in the next 99 days, but, for the most part, we will be posting a series I call “Dotcom Dad.” I will openly post what i am learning as I study internet marketing. If you have any tips or questions, please share them below. Do you think I should carry on with Wildlife Wednesday? Do you have any contributions for the feature? If so, send them and I will save them for the fall. Thanks for reading.
